Too Cool For School

Wait a sec!  I can't use that phrase anymore, can I?  Nope.  Because my baby *is* cool enough for school now!

Here she is, in all her sweetness, on her first day of school.

Wowzers.  I can't believe this day is already here.  She's just a baby!  She was born yesterday!

The verdict is still out on how Ellie's doing in kindergarten, since she's only attended one day, and I happened to be with her the entire time.  She goes solo tomorrow, so we'll see.  I am hopeful.  I am fearful.  I am overwhelmed.

I do know this: we will do whatever it takes to give Ellie every possible opportunity for scholastic success. Because, as I was telling her kindergarten teacher, our hearts bleed with that desire for her.  I can hardly wait for Ellie to read....because in books, you can live in an imaginary world, filled with loose muscles and dancing feet.

Whatever it takes, Ellie.

Dancing Queen

Young and Sweet, that's for sure.

My amazing cousin, Stephanie, is a dance teacher at a local studio.  When I approached her with the idea of Ellie taking lessons this year, she jumped on that ballet bandwagon and arranged everything for us.  Ellie is so excited.  And my heart swells with happiness at the thought of my baby tip-toeing around with all the other little girls.

Ellie's first dance class starts next week.  Don't worry, there will be many pictures to follow!

And, for those who are wondering, the little Missy hasn't yet started school.  Her first day of kindergarten is on Friday.  We met her teacher this week and couldn't be more thrilled.  Ellie walked into the classroom and immediately asked, "Where are the books?"  That's my girl!  Showin' off for the teacher even before the school year has begun!

I'll try to update more often as Ellie rocks her way through these new adventures and her mom tries to remember to breathe!
